Angus Dun performs well in his first tournament.

There were still a lot of juniors on holiday, but we had 8 at last week’s holiday competition. They were all able to play as individuals. Angus Dun won the older group pairing, where he was up against Nathan Simpson. We had two junior teams chosen by Ewan Lillico and Cammy Robertson, when Cammy’s team of Bruce McDougall and Lewis Jeffs just pipped Ewan’s team of Stuart Mitchell and Isaac Simpson. Ewan had the best individual score; with Cammy just beating Bruce into second place. The leaderboard in the clubhouse after two weeks, shows Angus Dun in the lead, with Cammy Robertson and Bruce McDougall tied on second place.

Angus Dun played in the Border Junior Competition at Minto on Saturday – the juniors quite undaunted by the strong winds. Angus came a creditable 12th out of 23 – very good considering he has just turned 14, and the ages were 16 and under. He had a nett score of 5 over par, and given the weather conditions, that was very good as only two were under par.
