Prize winners with Captain Drew Kellett. Nice to see some new faces in the lineup!
Due to the recent atrocious weather, Lauder Elderly Gentlemen Golfing Society (LEGGS) finally managed to play their annual spring outing at the fourth attempt for the Kerr Quaich.
Thanks to Jim Jefferies for organising the event on Gullane N3 course and clubhouse catering provided.
Although the weather could have been kinder, all returned unscathed and looking forward to the season ahead.
The winner of the Kerr Quaich was Matt Whiteford, runner up Jim Jefferies, with Jim Tough third. Best outward 9 Doug Easton, and best inward 9 Les Mitchell. Nearest the pin at 15th Tom Crawford.

T T Sanderson won 9 Border Championships and 15 Peebles Championships. His memory is celebrated by an annual trophy match with all the Border Clubs invited to send a team of 6 to play for the Trophy. This competition is different from the usual competition, it caters for all golfers. The teams are made up of two low, two middle and two high handicappers. Scoring is stableford and the sum of the 6 scores is added, to give a winner. Melrose, Hawick, Peebles, Kelso, Jedburgh, Innerleithen, The Hirsel, Galashiels. Torwoodlee, Langholm, Cardrona and Gala Bakers are all former winners.
This year 7 clubs answered the call and it is hoped that next year the entry can be doubled.
The Lauder team of SHANE PATON, JIMMY GILLIE, KENNY GILLAN, LEE MANDERSON, GRANT ROBSON and DOUGIE BAIN were 2nd on 191 pts.
Thanks to Jim Jefferies for organising Lauder Elderly Gentlemen’s Golfing Society (LEGGS) annual autumn outing to Dunbar Golf Club. It certainly was a game of two halves as the score cards tell with a total of 206 points scored on the outward 9, and only 151 on the back 9 when facing a stiff westerly breeze. Jim proposed a vote of thanks to Dunbar greens staff and the catering for their excellent service which was enjoyed by all.
Captain Drew Kellett presented the prizes to:
Winner of The Paterson Trophy Matt Whiteford
2nd Keith Ackerman
3rd Bill Hollands.
The best outward 9 Ron Darling and the best inward 9 Jim Jefferies.
